Latest Activity: Dec 8, 2010
In 2011, Space Makers Agency will be working with people who live and work in West Norwood to create a new monthly street market - and we need your help.
We're looking for artists and makers, foodies and photographers, entrepreneurs, street performers and anyone else with imagination and energy.
This is our first project since Brixton Village - and it's a bit different, as we'll be focusing on outdoor stalls and spaces, rather than empty shops. It all starts with an exploration process over the next couple of months. We'll be sharing our ideas for how the new market could work and looking to learn more about what's already going on in this part of south London.
If you'd like to find out more and get involved then join us this Wednesday night, 7pm at the Portico Gallery on Knights Hill. We'll have mulled wine, mince pies and some quick presentations from Mitchell Jacobs, who's leading the project, and Lambeth council, who are funding it.
The gallery is a few moments from West Norwood station - turn left onto Knights Hill and you'll find it near the junction with Wolfington Road.
PS - Check out this picture of the gallery - it's a fantastic space in an old theatre.
