Rethinking the spaces in which we spend our lives
Let’s make Devonshire Arcade the launchpad for a revival of Penrith’s independent shops — and a home for creative culture in the town.
Space Makers Agency is working with the Devonshire Arcade traders and Eden Arts to fill the empty shops and create a new social and cultural hub for the town. We need your ideas, energy and talents to make it happen.
On Wednesday 19th October, we’ll be holding a Space Exploration night with talks, workshops and a chance to find out how you can get involved. Then from 29th October, we’ll be hosting weekly Saturday events in the arcade, with entertainment and activities for all ages.
Everyone knows the arcade has seen better days — and that the opening of the new supermarkets is a cause of anxiety for independent businesses throughout the town centre. So let’s support the small shops that make Penrith special, bring a new burst of life to the arcade and give people something really super to talk about.
Space Makers is about bringing people together to reimagine the spaces in which we live, work and play. Our previous projects have turned around markets that have been in long-term decline and brought life back to local high streets. You can read more about us here:
